Contacted Goelite, Inc. on March 4, 2022, for assistance. Successfully admitted to Harrisburg University, submitted status change application on March 30, received approval without RFE on May 6, and obtained the i797 notice on June 21.

Contacted Goelite, Inc. on March 7, 2023, with an H1B visa nearing its grace period expiration on March 18 and a background in robotics in the US. Rapidly secured admission to Westcliff University with an I-20 form within 8 working days and prepared status change documents with a lawyer. Submitted the application on March 16, received USCIS receipt notice on March 22, completed fingerprinting on April 12, and received approval notice on May 11, without RFE.

B visa to F1 status change
Contacted Goelite, Inc. on April 13, 2023, with a B visa expiring in July and holding US undergraduate and MBA degrees. Secured admission to Westcliff University's DBA program and I-20 form swiftly, and prepared status change application with a lawyer. Received USCIS receipt notice on May 20, completed fingerprinting on May 26. Faced a Request for Evidence (RFE) for property documentation in China on June 15, which was addressed with the lawyer's assistance and a translated RFE Response Letter. Approval Notice received on July 3.

J1 to F1 status change
Contacted Goelite, Inc. on November 7, 2022, with a J1 status expiring on April 30, 2023, needing to apply to a school for F1 status. Applied to Westcliff University's MBA program on November 8, 2022, and received admission and I-20 on November 18. Submitted status change application on November 15, 2022, and coordinated with Westcliff University to defer enrollment to the next semester. Received a Request for Evidence (RFE) on January 24, 2023, submitted RFE materials on February 16, and received approval notice the next day, February 17.

H1B to Canada relocation and H4 to F1/F2 status change
On September 6, 2023, a client contacted GoElite, Inc., after receiving approval for I-140 with a current Priority Date but facing a cancelled H1B extension and planning to relocate to Canada. The client's spouse, intending to stay in the US with their child on H4 visas, sought to change their statuses to F1 for her and F2 for the child. GoElite swiftly secured admission letters and I-20 forms within a week. They filed the status change application on September 27, but the package was returned on October 10 due to incorrect submission of Form I-539. With legal assistance, an appeal letter was submitted to USCIS along with the original application and supporting documents on October 11, despite the expired status. Approval Notice received on October 20.

L1A to F1 status
On January 3, 2023, a client with an L1A visa and an executive role at a company contacted Goelite. Facing delays in green card processing by the employer, which limited job flexibility, the client decided to switch to an F1 visa to study and seek new employment opportunities through CPT. With Goelite's assistance, admission and an I-20 form from Trine University were secured. The status change application was submitted on March 22, fingerprinting took place on April 20, and without any requests for additional documentation, an approval notice was received on May 22, with no RFE encountered.

Joyce Rho is a practiced immigration attorney based in Buena Park, CA, specializing in a spectrum of legal services, including business law and immigration law. With a solo practice established in January 2023 at Rhohan Law, Joyce has demonstrated expertise in the F-1 visa process, green card applications, and various changes of status. 

Joyce's academic foundation includes a Juris Doctor from the University of West Los Angeles and a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies and Political Science from the University of California-Los Angeles. Helen Zhong serves as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Civil Division at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Washington DC, bringing a wealth of experience in complex commercial litigation and legal research. Prior to her current role, Helen was an associate at Zhong Lun Law Firm in Shanghai, where she excelled in defending and prosecuting commercial disputes.

Helen’s educational background includes an LL.M. from Columbia Law School as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a J.D. (U.S. Law) and J.M. (Chinese Law) magna cum laude from Peking University School of Transnational Law. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 2023, Helen’s interdisciplinary skills are further augmented by her native proficiency in Mandarin and her engaging interests outside of law.
